SHE : In sleeping mode

Footsteps of a person moving in the room is knocking her conscious mind which is in sleeping mode. She heard it saying, “Your room mate is awake. You should also get up. Loads of assignments are to be done.” She searches for her cell-phone to see the time. It’s 10.30 am and that’s why sun is beaming through the large completely transparent window. The weather is quite hot. She deactivates all the alarm at specific time that she set the night before with the objective of getting up early. As usual, she failed. The thought already demotivated her.  She slept more.

Feeling sweats on her neck, cleavage, upper lip and under the lip. She opens her heavy eye lid and looks at the cell phone time, her conscious mind gapes at her. It was half past afternoon! Already 6 and half hours are wasted in sleeping. Her conscious mind scolding her, “How will you achieve your dreams sleeping??? Wake up and chase your dreams! You need to do so many assignments!” She did not wake up at the scolding of her conscious mind but she still got up because she knew that she will not get any sleep due to this hot sweaty humid weather.
After lingering for one more minute, ultimately she woke up. She brushed her teeth slowly, lazily. The image of Darsheel Safari sitting on a pot and brushing lazily in the world of his imagination in Taare Zameen Par movie of Aamir Khan came to her mind. The feel of the imagination in her head is good and inspiring. She aimed to be a painter, she thought. Washing her face and feeling little hungry, she searched for food in her cupboard which is the only thing provided by the institute. She noticed that everyone in her flat is doing assignments. It was alarming. From Tuesday her mid- term is going to start and today is Sunday. Her heart skipped a beat. As she was going for the food, she found a chips packet which was full of air and very little chips inside. She ate it. Her heart missed home and mom’s food. She missed her mom as well. All of these made her forgot the consciousness about her dream and assignments.
She called her boyfriend. She knew he would be sleeping because that is the only day in the week that he completes his rest of the week. She won’t disturb. But she couldn’t control herself. She wanted to hear his voice. She called, his sleepy voice answered. She felt herself beside him, hugging him tightly and sleeping in his arms with locking legs. The thought was so pleasing that she fell asleep once again.
After 2 hours, she answered the nature’s call. That made her wide awake again. She opened her laptop and watched her favorite movie Yeh Jawanai Hai Dewaani. She loves the story because it’s a movie which shows how much a person is dedicated for his dreams and chases it and lives it! It is really entertaining to know that it so much fun in living a dream than to drink liters of alcohol and dance and have sex under the influence of the same.  Suddenly she felt the urge to ponder of the steps to reach her dreams. Still, her assignments are undone.
Only god knows what will happen of her mid-term exams. Besides, after this semester she has to sit for placements. She is still in dreaming mode. Sleeping and dreaming. Not realizing that she is becoming lazier because she is finding her pleasure in living the life of her dreams in her dreams, ignoring her realities.
